1st postpartum AF with lots of ewcm

I stopped breastfeeding my DD @ 7mo, but I was not shocked that my cycle didn't return afterwards because I have PCOS.  For about a month now I've been having ewcm almost daily (some days more some less) which is unusual for me even around ovulation.  I was not charting at all because we aren't TTC, but my period showed up Sat.  I don't know if it's a real period or just an annovulatory cycle.  the ewcm has continued daily with my period in quite large amounts.  I'm kind of chalking it up to crazy hormones, but curious if anyone else has experienced this?

  • PP periods and cycles are way crazy. We are, supposedly, super fertile after giving birth, so the fact that you have lots of EWCM isn't surprising to me. Are you on any kind of BC?

  • YES! I ebf for 6 months (then stopped) and finally got my first period just before 8 months, but I've had way more ewcm than I ever did before conceiving (and like you, it's constant). Like PP said, it's probably due to our bodies trying to get back into it's groove :)

edit: just realized I clicked on the wrong board! I'm still in 6-9 months Embarrassed

  • Yep--just got my first AF (still BFing so I'm sad LOL) and it's the same as you described.

  • I am still nursing but I have been having menstrual like cramps for about a week and a half to two weeks! I haven't gotten AF yet but I've had a ton of ewcm! Like it was practically falling out of me the other night. Can't wait to hurry up and get my first AF over with. These cramps are getting really old!
