I heard on the radio this morning that the nurse involved in that radio prank about Kate in the hospital has been found dead.

No other info given and sorry no link. Yikes. Poor woman. She was an idiot to divulge info but dead??

    Just read an article saying they believe it was suicide. That poor woman. I'm sure she was in big trouble with the hospital for making such a huge mistake, she must have felt so ashamed to do something so serious.

    The hospital was not disciplining her in any way. They have different privacy laws there then we do here. However, I'm sure she felt responsible for patching the call through. I can't imagine the personal responsibility or public humiliation she felt.

    I don't find public humiliation funny. Nor do I find violating people's privacy entertaining. I also can't get behind jeopardizing someone else's job for a few laughs.

    I do want to point out that most people who commit suicide have many underlying issues that eventually lead to their decision to take their own lives.  But this definitely seemed to be the thing that pushed her over the edge.  Poor woman.  I didn't listen to the segment when they called, but if it's a busy hospital she may just be trained to forward calls no matter who's calling.  I know when I was a receptionist I could care less who was on the other end, I just sent the call where they wanted it to go quickly so I could get to my other work.

    Not a receptionist. A nurse that happened to answer the phones to help out reception, so she wasn't familiar with some stuff.

    She comes from a very modest heritage and found the humiliation, shame, and possibility of losing her job too much to handle. She must have already had an unstable mind. She committed suicide.
