XP: daycare is this normal?

DD never comes home in the same outfit I send her in because she always has a "poopsplosion" at some point during the day at daycare. She only poops once a day and I know they change their diapers every 2hrs. I also know that if she is in a toy with a seat like an excersaucer and goes then it always leaks. I can't imagine that she is in a toy like that evey day every time she happens to poop. When I question the teacher she said all the "babies" have this happen practically every day. I just don't find this to be normal. I've changed diapers brand and size but that doesn't seem to matter. Although it happens on my watch on the weekends it is not an "everyday" occurance. Actually it rarely happens when she is home with me for the day so I don't know why it constantly happens at daycare. Anyone have a similar experience?

  • my little man goes the same time of day and it is almost always in the exersaucer (i think he likes standing up to do it)

I also used to work in a nursery where i had the walkers to 2 year olds and i don't even remember changing their outfits because of poop. (maybe messy food eating day but even that was rare)

I also don't know what you can do about it unless you change day cares.

  • DD usually only poops once a day and its usually a poopsplosion~ too much comes out all at once. and its fairly consistently around the same time

I don't know much about daycare so if it feels uncomfortable to you you should address it.  I do know that standing and walking helps us all move our bowels better so it could be legit

  • We are also getting at least one outfit sent home everyday. We have switched brands and sizes with no luck. No advice for you, but you're not alone if that helps....

  • Before we increased DS's solids, this happened at least once a day to us. I would try waiting to put him in the exersaucer after he'd pooped. No such luck; he'd just poop again and it would almost always go up the back, just because of the way he was positioned.

Now that DS is eating more solids, particularly oatmeal, he's getting more fiber and his poop is more solid so it doesn't happen.

  • We went through a week or 2 where he came home every.single.day in a different outfit - and one day, he even came home in someone else's clothes because he had gone through ALL of his extra clothes. Also, it does seem that he will often go when in the saucer or jumperoo, as PP mentioned, maybe its the position he's in?

  • Ask them to not put her in an exersaucer. DD's daycare doesn't use them. You figure we need them at home so we can get things done. But what does dc need to get done? They should be there taking care of the babies and not just putting them in seats to sit in all day. You don't know how long they're being left there.

Adeline poops at the same time everyday.  Wake up - bottle - food - poop.  Like clockwork.  When she's home, after food, we put her in her walker and then she poops.  Everyday she's home.  Everyday.

But she doesn't do it at MIL's because their routine with where they sit her after food is different.
