Babies: 9 - 12 Months

if you went on cruise with baby

Did it suck? Did you have to go to sleep at 8pm or whenever DC went to sleep? Is it at all doable? We're thinking of going on a cruise with another couple when DS will around a year old but I'm not sure its gonna be a vacation.

  • i've been on a cruise, but not with a baby. i would worry too much, especially if dc is walking by then.

  • oh..walking I haven't even thought of that for some reason. I'm still trying to figure out how we'd get out of the room past 8pm and who'd watch him.

  • I think a lot of cruise ships have some type of babysitting. I know when we were on our cruise, there was a couple there that I know were there with 2 kids and they were out late.
  • Is the other couple bringing a baby?  If so, maybe you guys can take turns staying in with the babies.  I personally would NOT trust babysitters out of the country or on vacation anywhere.  I guess it would be really hard for someone to take your baby on a cruise ship, but keep in mind that they're basically all registered out of the country and the same laws never seem to apply to them.  I know someone who got really hurt on a cruise and it's been a big fiasco mainly because the cruise is registered somewhere else.
  • The other couple has a baby that's 3 months older than DS but they might get lucky and her parents might take the baby for a week.

  • I know that on the Carnival line, the babysitting is a group situation and it starts at 10 pm. You have to bring your child to Camp Carnival for the night.
