iron pills after blood loss

Im 20 weeks 5 days and i have been bleeding since 13 weeks. Baby is healthy nd strong. Dr. Has put me on iron pills which i immediately start to vomit 30 to 45min after. Is there any thing i can do to alleviate this reaction?

    Did he give you a prescription or just ask you to get over the counter ones?  I do over the counter Nature Made brand two times a day and have since August.  I still hate them and they take some getting used to but I've never had a reaction as bad as that and overall it hasn't been a big deal to take them.

    Are you taking slow release iron? That should help. Also take try taking them with meals. If that doesn't work definitely talk to your doctor, I'm sure there's some alternatives to the pills.

    There are also different types of iron meds, talk to pharmacist and try another one.  I also hear that liquid ones are easier to handle.  Lucky me, I've never had a problem taking iron.
