Car seat?

So ds must have had a growth spurt this week or something because he is spilling out of his infant car seat all of a sudden. I was just wondering for those of you who have already moved out of the infant car seat, what did you get and how do you like it?

Re: Car seat?

  • We got a Britax Boulevard a couple of months ago and we love it.  It was easy to install and DD seems very comfortable.  She use to scream in the infant seat, but really likes this one.

  • Due to size of my back seat, we ended up with the Britax Marathon.  DS still fits into his infant car seat those his legs are hanging over.

I have yet to install the convertible, partly because I want to schedule an appointment with the fire department who does sit fittings.

  • We got the new Graco Size4Me.  I like it because it can rearface up to 40lbs and forward face to 70lbs, plus it's gotten good safety reviews and has been crash tested for side impact.  I can adjust the straps without needing to rethread them, and DS is loving the extra space.  Plus it's cheaper than the seats that convert to a booster.  I figure if he needs a booster after 70lbs, we'll spring for the $20 one.

This is what we have as well and I love it. So easy to install, he looks comfortable and adjusting the straps are so easy.

  • Thanks for the responses. I just don't want to get more than what we're going to need and spend money that is not necessary.

  • We have a Britax Marathon for our main car that I love. LO seems really comfy in it and it is pretty easy to get in and out.

We bought Safety 1st Alpha Omega for cheap from Costco for my car because he isn't in it very much. I don't like it half as much, it is so hard to install properly and he just doesn't seem as comfortable when he is in it.

  • We bought two Diono Radian RXT car seats because they go up to around 120 pounds and even turn into a booster seat later on.  We haven't installed them yet but I hear great things. Baby girl is definitely still light enough for her infant seat but getting way too tall. :)

  • We have a Diono Radian and love it. We'll never have to buy another seat. It goes RFing to 45 lbs and can be used FFing with a 5 point harness much longer than any other seat on the market, then can be used as a booster. Plus you can fit 3 across a regular sedan backseat and it folds up for travel. It has great safety ratings.
