i have always heard about people playing classical music or other types of music directed toward their bumps. I have also heard of people reading or singing to them as well.
We sometimes listen to classical music, and i have started to do so more, with my phone by my bump so maybe baby can hear. DH has also started talked to my bump. i personally think its a sweet way to bond with our LO
i was wondering if anyone else is doing this, or are we just odd??

Love the article. I will certainly be making more of an effort to play some classical music for little guy in there. Thanks for sharing!
Love.
I play Sea Of Love every morning for LO. I read somewhere that if you play the same song for them often, they sometimes recognize it after birth. I also play a variety of music to my belly. Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Beatles, Jay-Z, Mumford & Sons. She's getting quite a musical education from the start.
My husband also talks to her all the time. I think it's sweet, and a nice way to bond with baby. Not weird at all.
I have a friend who did this, but to his own taste in music (Mumford and Sons mostly) and his son now goes nuts and moves and bounces a ton everytime something similar is on. On the other hand, I heard a study that the listening of classical music doesn't make the child smarter. However, if a parent cares enough about the intelligence of the child to put music on their belly, then the child will probably be smarter because of the attentiveness of the parent. ( I hope I worded that right )
This, exactly. The "mozart effect" was based on only one study done with college students and hasn't been replicated in young children. It's a great way to have fun and bond, but the classical music will, in no way, make LO smarter.
