Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Question from a second time mom - Rock N Plays

Hi!

I am pregnant with my second and I remember sooo many moms LOVING the rock n play for their babies.  A bunch of moms whose babe's had reflux seemed to do well in them too.

I plan to get one for this baby, but there are a few kinds.  Wondering if anyone has recommendations?  I can't find any out in the stores around here so not sure if I need the bigger one or if the smaller one will be ok.  I plan to use it as a bassinet.

Thanks

  • We use the Fisher Price Snugabunny. Just make sure you always use the belts - especially once your baby can roll.

We got a lot of use out of it, no problems.

  • I also have the bunny version. I have read that they can cause flat heads in some babies. My dd did get a little bit flat on one said but her dr said it was nothing to worry about. We got a noggin nest for her and it was fine. She slept in it until she was 4 months old. I would use it again.
  • yep we had the same bunny one too :)  it was the only thing he would sleep in for the first 10 weeks.  Then after that it was great to use in other rooms of the house.  I still have it in my bathroom and put my 7month old in it while I am getting ready for work.  He is just started to look like he will come out of it and he is a big baby.  So we also got a lot of use out of it.  not flat head issues

  • We had one just like the poster that linked above but ours is the pink one. She didn't have reflux but it was nice all the same. She was next to our bed at night, moved it to her room for naps, and sometimes we would put her in it in the living room and rock it for a while until she fell asleep, then we'd slide it to her room.

  • We have the snug a bunny one, and we used it as a bassinet as well. He slept in it until he was 5 months old and then we transitioned to the crib.

  • I was too worried about a flat head to use one and my babiy came out long. We used a small pack n play. Worked great for us.

  • We had the Snugabunny one as well and loved it. Transitioning out of it to the crib was a bit of a bother, but it was well worth it for all the extra sleep we managed during those early months. I went from sleeping on the couch with DD on my chest and waking up every two hours (she wouldn't sleep in her bassinet or the crib) to sleeping in the bed for 6+ hours night when DD was eight weeks old.
