My son has worn the sleep suit since he was about 3 months old for weekend (not DC) naps and night-time sleep. At that time, he was swaddled in a swing and I did the suit when he transitioned to his crib. I'm thinking about now transitioning out of the suit for the following reasons:
1. It's time to order the larger suit size and it would be nice to not have to spend the money
2. We are about to move, so he's going to go through a major transition, so maybe I should coincide coming out of the suit with his new home/room?
3. He just did sleep training and is going great, so thought maybe now is the time to get rid of his last "bad" sleep association.
If you've transitioned out of the suit...how did it go? Any issues? What are your thoughts about the new room and no suit at the same time approach? Would it be smarter to do the suit through the move, and then after a couple weeks try getting out of the suit? When you transitioned out, what did you dress him/her in instead? I am assuming footie jammies? TIA, thanks!
Re: If you've transitioned out of the magic sleep suit please come in
We just transitioned out of it, primarily because DD could barely fit into the 6-9 size any more (she's huge! LOL). I have been putting her in fuzzy footed jammies and I also turned up the temperature in the house one degree at night to off-set the fact that she would be in something that isn't as warm as the sleep suit.
We did sleep training a month earlier, and waited until after our Thanksgiving travel was over to switch out of the suit, because I didn't want to overwhelm her with too many changes at once.
But it really just depends on how adaptable your LO is, which only you can know. If he handles change pretty easily, then there's definitely some benefit to just doing it all at once. Good luck!
