I have a million people (Okay 12) coming to stay for 4 days. I decided to get a head start on the baking. DS went down for a nap and DD and I started baking. We got the gingerbread dough made and chilling in the fridge. DD made Rice Krispy treats all by herself (I just held the pot handle for her on the stove and stirred the last of the treats in when it got too hard) and then DS woke up. When I got him changed we came downstairs and I plopped him into his highchair with a bottle and some Cheerios so that DD and I could continue baking.
We had just decided that our best course of action would be to make a new cookie (Brownie filled chocolate chip cookies) when DS started protesting because he was done his bottle. I handed him a handful of blueberries and went back to work. He protested again and DD went over and gave him more berries. We went back to work. DD had decided to give him all the berries and DS ate all of the berries. I had bought a lot of them. Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries. Only the strawberries were left.
Tonight my shoulder was sore from working out this morning and DH sent me to have a bath after dinner. I came downstairs to find that DH has cleaned the kitchen and he said, "You get to do bedtime. This kitchen was a disaster. I suggest you start with the boy!" I walked over to DS who was tired and again confined to his highchair (which is not normal for him) and I picked him up. His sleeper went squelch when I picked him up and he started oozing. I put him on the floor to lead him upstairs. He wrenched his hand free and started running down the hall. It took a second for me to realized this was a bad idea as he was leaving footprints down the hallway. I picked him up under his arms and carried his now dripping self and threw him in the bath.
There were full blueberries in the diaper. There was poop up to his neck. I have never changed a diaper that bad before. I didn't know a child could have that much poop. And did DS decide it would be a good idea to cooperate during the initial wipe down? No of course not. He thought it would be best if he got some all over me.
It. Was. Horrible. I need a drink.
