Should I bring LO to the doctor for this? I use aquaphor but it only helps for a day or so. Has anyone tried anything that's worked? I'd prefer to try something natural before a prescription. Thank you!
DD had this on her back about a month ago. We tried all the natural oils and lotions we could find and nothing worked, so doc told us to use hydrocortisone cream, with the lowest percentage. He said not to use it for more than 3 days in a row. It cleared right up. She had a few more outbreaks but the past few weeks it seems to have disappeared. You should probably call the doctor first though, they might have different opinions on what is best, and they may want to look and make sure it is not a rash or anything more serious.

What percentage did you use? My doc said the same thing and I found some 1%, but the pharmacist told me they make .5%. I've been waiting until I could find that.
My little one has the same stuff, my grandmother said to use coconut oil, it worked wonders on her skin, and I've had very few come back. I also live in a log home that is heated with a coal stove, so it gets really dry, so I do this every chance I get to make her feel better! I should also tell you that it comes more like shortening, but if you microwave it till its liquid it goes on better, just don't over heat it! if you do just let it cool before using!
What detergents are girls using?? I know my niece couldn't have her things washed in anything but tide or all free and clear with no fabric softener. Switching that helped more than any cream.
Ava gets this and e have only used the free and clear detergents. I use the aveeno lotion. I also sometimes will put the vaseline on etc. Will talk to the dr on monday about what else i could do. But the aveeno lotion works best for us
The eczema association now recommends bathing every day with luke warm water, and applying a lotion or ointment before the skin dries. LO had really dry, bumpy skin on shoulders and down the backs of his arms. We bathe him everyother day and apply aquaphor healing ointment before he dries and it went away like magic. I hope you find something that works for you! GL.

Have you tried giving your LO an oatmeal bath? It's really easy! Just soak a cup of oat powder in lukewarm water. The oat milk will act as a moisturizer and it will prevent future eczema.
