What is the best gift you've received? What was the worst?
Best: A little USB Christmas tree DH found in the clearance bin at work for $5 when he started working his job 6 years ago. I love it still.
Worst: A hamper full of assorted little hand towels from the discount store MIL worked at. I got a load of laundry for Christmas. Colors included salmon pink, pastel pink, light purple, fall leaves, red with apples, brown, blue Pepsi and grey Pepsi, and dark purple. I use them as rags.

Best I would say is a new laptop from DH one year. It was completely out of our budget and a total surprise.
Worst. MIL In For Christmas 2009 gave me a student planner for 2009. When I opened it up it had a dead fly stuck in the pages.
From recent memory
Best: my watch from DH. His Christmas tradition just involves going to the jewelry store where he got my engagement ring and picking out one new piece.
Worst: My poor in-laws try, but I wish they'd stop buying me things. One gem was a Christmas purse. It looked just like this:
Best: Growing up we didn't have money. One year, my parents bought us all a toy from McDonalds, and that is all we got. That toy is the best gift I ever received for some reason.
Worst: Last year my MIL gave me a makeup case. I don't even wear makeup.

I have to go against the trend. My MIL had two sons and loves shopping for girls. She picks out a lovely bag (usually Coach or Kate Spade) for me each year.
My dad and his wife are the worst. One year they gave me long underwear. The next year, they gave me weird skimpy pajamas that were three sizes too big.

Best: Beginner homebrew kit from my wife
Worst: Microwavable pasta boat from my wife's grandmother. We immediately pawned it off on my single BIL.
Worst. A set of Playboy double shot glasses from my brother and his gf, 3 weeks after I had DS.
Worst: the bright orange striped sweater from the supermarket house brand from SIL. Please stop buying me clothes. Please.
Best: DH gives really good gifts. Best was either the year I got diamond earrings or the year I got a LV handbag.
Worst: I left the religion I grew up in when I moved away from home for college at age 18. However, my family has sent or given me religious books, statues, etc. year after year for Christmas. For 22 years now. And how do you get rid of a porcelain statue of Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemane?
Worst: my mom gave a perfume. I hate perfume.
Worst- From one of my grandmothers. An actual how-to book called "How to be a Cheerleader" that had a print date of 1960 something. I was in high school and had never been a cheerleader.
Best- The year I graduated from HS, my aunt gave me a beautiful framed verse from a song my Dad wrote called "Home Again". It's been hung on the wall in every dorm, apartment, and bedroom I've lived in since then. Until LO was born. Now it's in her room.
Last year, DH gave me a beautiful antique cedar hope chest.
I would love to receive that now!
Worst? Mil gave me nasty dollar store lingerie one year
Best: A baby stroller from my baby shower with my first. It was a great stroller!
Worst: Shedding towel from MIL. There are strands of stray strands all over it o_o
Worst was a bag of clementines that were so old they were black, a bottle of expired salad dressing and a Jesus freak hat. All from my FIL.
