Trying to cut back this Christmas

It's so hard. I have a hard time limiting things especially when it comes to my 4 yo DD. how do you go about keeping things under control? Do you set a certain budget or number of gifts?

    1 thing they want

    1 thing they need

    1 thing they wear

    1 thing they need

     

    *Not applicable to grandparents since they NEVER listen to us!

    I think one of the needs should be read :)

    We are doing this as well this year. I added watch to it and got each a new movie

    I tried to do the 4 gift rule... I strayed a lil but it has definitely helped control the chaos. I also saw someone added something to watch and I agree with this one. We always buy 1 Disney DVD for them to share this year was Brave.
