Pregnancy exhaustion!

How did you Mamas with little ones so close handle the exhaustion andddd taking care of a baby?? DS is 4 1/2 months and a little high needs.. I don't remember being nearly this tired when pregnant with him.. Hoping this passes soon!! I did take a nap with him today.. Helped, but now it's 945 and I can't sleep.. I'm terrified of how I'm going to handle working, taking care of DS at night and being pregnant! Thankfully I will be off for the next 4 weeks.. Saved all my vacation time last year to use now with DS.. Definitely didn't thinkid be pregnant again!! Life is full of blessings =)

Re: Pregnancy exhaustion!

  • It's hard, not going to lie. DH deployed right before I found out I was PG, so I've done this whole thing by myself. I am EXHAUSTED. Thankfully I only have a few weeks left and he should be home soon (hopefully!). Basically, what got me through is napping when he naps. He was still taking 3 naps in the beginning, and is down to 2 good ones everyday, and sleeps at night. You will have to rethink prioriites and learn to take care of yourself. For example, we aren't doing any gift exchanges this year and I've had to be less invovled in my mom's group. When you have energy get things done, if you don't have energy don't push it. You don't have to be the perfect mom, and perfect wife and temporarily may need to be a little selfish as far as getting rest and doing less. H&H 9 mos!

  • This pregnancy has been so much harder than my first. I'm still battling with MS, add that to the general pregnancy aches and pains and that's one thing. Then add a one year old who is crazy active and I feel like I have been run over!

I think you just do it because no one else is. I SAH and I want to enjoy every bit of time with just me and DS so we go about our day like we would if I wasn't pregnant. DH is my lifesaver when he gets home. He helps do bath time and bed time. While he is doing that, I go take a long warm bath. My back has been killing me so I look forward to my bath every single day.

  • Thanks, guys!! I'm having a huge holiday party n Saturday and I have zero motivation to prepare! We will probably have over 60 people here, and I have so much to do, but am just so tired.  sighhhhh.  Wish I had known I'd be pregnant again before I sent out the invites again this year!!!

  • Hi I'm new here and was just curious what it was like for mothers of 2 under 2 years. Stay strong it should get easier :). I can relate to your exhaustion I have 5 kids 5,4,3,2, and 15 months and I am 33 weeks pregnant with number 6. It is very exhausting but it is wonderful and I love all my kids sooo much. Once the baby is here it will all be worth it and you will forget how exhausting it once was :). Hope you can get much rest as possible. I'm always here to chat and relate. Take care happy holidays and best of luck with your pregnancy :).
