I wonder if that is like the Bumbo seat? I'm not entirely convinced these products are hazards, but like the article quotes it the misuse of the product by the parents. I'd be interested to see the circumstances surrounding the injuries and deaths "associated" with the Nap Nanny.
They have yet to actually cite (or I haven't seen it) specific failures with the product(s). With all things involving babies, they don't qualify for being babysitters. You still have to supervise your baby.

I agree. It's sounds like misuse/non supervision to me. Babies have passed sleeping in car seats as well, so to me if he's not in his crib with nothing else, I'll be supervising his nap.
I agree that the death incidents sound like the item was misused, in one case it was used in a crib with a crib bumper. However, what worries me is the there were 70 other complaints about the product. I have one, which I only used for dd to lounge in during the day and always supervised, but it just makes me nervous still and for me I just feel better not using it.

Totally understandable! I think recalls are helpful because even if you still decide to use it, its an extra reminder to be careful/ follow instructions.
