Charity gift giving ?

Our preschool is sponsoring families in one specific beach town were the director lives. The town is small and 100 families still cannot get into their homes. I have a brother and sister, the boy is 6 and wants Thomas stuff. This is oldish for Thomas but he likely lost everything in the storm so I assume that is why they are asking, or he is just still a huge fan like my Godson. So, wooden, trackmaster or take along for a 6yo?

    I'd probably get the wooden set.  Last year my mom found a train table with all the trains and both trackmaster and wooden tracks used for really cheap. She got it for DS who is 3 and we keep it in his room. He likes both sets. My older kids who are 6,7,&8 all play with the trains too but they only seem to like the wooden tracks.
