Nose Bleeds

I'm getting to tired of these nosebleeds! I'm prone to them prior to pregnancy and now I'm getting atleast 1 a day, sometimes 2. Today I had to go to my ENT specialist because I couldn't get my nose to stop bleeding, he used a sticky antibiotic gel around the inside of my nose to stop it but suggested I talk with my OB about getting the ok to get it cauterized.

Anyone else having this problem too?

Re: Nose Bleeds

  • Yikes!

Pregnant or nor, I never get nosebleeds but lately I can smell and taste blood when I flip my hair over to dry it. No actual bleeding though.

  • I don't have "nosebleeds" in the traditional sense but for the last few months every time I blow my nose it's bloody, usually dry though. It's super gross!

    same here!!!
  • Ditto to PPs, I haven't had actually nosebleeds but everytime I blow my nose there is blood. I tried using a humidifier at night and it seems to help a little.

  • I'm very prone to nosebleeds so I keep a humidifier running in my bedroom. I'm tempted to spend the money and get a whole home humidifier though because I'm still having them frequently and if my nose isn't bleeding, there's still blood when I blow my nose.

  • Ditto humidifiers and this may sound gross but coat the inside of your nose with vaseline/bacitracin before you go to sleep and it will help keep those delicate membranes from breaking.

I've got a humidifier in our bedroom, and I use something like vaseline around the insides of my nose already and none of its helped.

  • My nose just has dried blood in it all the time.  Its pretty gross.  My dr. put me on Rhinocort nasal spray for allergies and the nosebleeds stopped after that.
