Not much. At least not on physical gifts. I think I spend $150 this year. But we gift "experiences". We're going into NYC this Saturday for dinner & to go ice skating, we're going to Sesame Place for the Christmas parade & shows, we host a Breakfast with Santa for almost 30 of our friends & their children. These all add up to big bucks for us, but we'd rather spend the money on this than actual presents.

When going through the Santa/St. Nick/Mom and Dad bin last night I noticed that there was less than I thought there was, but oh well I am done shopping!
This is what she got or is getting
Last night for St. Nick-A skirt, a shirt, a pair of black dress shoes(she asked Santa for these) and a Christmas Book.
Christmas Eve:She will get PJ's from Myself and DH
Christmas Day:Small Doll with Accessiories, Glass Tea Set, Board Game, A horse and girl riding set, barn set with animals, tractors and people and her big gift is a Grocery store set up in the basement.
I think we spend maybe $100 not quite sure

The 1st 2 yrs I probably spent close to $200-300 dollars on DS. The last 2 yrs its in the range of $100-150. The reason being that he just had a b-day in October and we spend a lot of $$ on that, plus my family spoils him during Christmas, so we keep it low key.
This year we got him a hooded bath towel, a book, 2 sweat pants, sippy cups w/ straws, footed pajamas/thermal pj's and undies. These are all gifts from us (parents).
From Santa on Christmas morning he will get: a RC helicopter, How to Train your Dragon DVD, How to train your dragon t-shirt, an aquarium with fish and I am trying to get tickets to the How to Train your Dragon live show that is coming to town, but dont know yet.

We keep it REALLY low key for Christmas because both of our extended families buy gifts for the kids, so they get plenty. We've probably spent $30 on DD and $15 on DS. DD is getting Cinderella DVD and a remote control car and DS is getting a alligator on wheels DD picked out and a matchbox.
DH does their stockings--he usually goes to the dollar store and picks up silly things and candies, so not much more than what we've already spent. If we never go crazy, they'll never expect it. Maybe I'll feel differently when they go to school and compare gifts with other kids, ha.

How do you do all that for 100
Oh I am a deals shopper, half the stuff I got through out the year in the clearance section for like 80% off and the grocery store stuff is mainly recycled items from around the house including the shelving and she is getting the cash register from her GParents so that helps.

well I usually go by amount to be honest with you. I spend the same amount on both girls and when I hit around that amount I am done. I always try and keep in mind that they are going to be getting presents from grandparents and aunts and uncles so because they don't have a playroom and I have to be very organized with toys I try to be pretty good about over buying
I will be honest though I do spend around $500 for each of the girls so I am not a frugal shopper...I wish I had that gift They get a big gift that they either share or both get depending and then separate gifts.
We spend between $65 and $75 on each of the girls which includes us helping them buy each other a gift. The number of gifts will vary based on what we get and spend per gift. I don't stress on the number of gifts vs the dollar amount. My parents spend around $50 per grandchild and then we do a grab bag with my side of the family so that is 1 gift and this year we did one with my extended family (for Hanukkah while we were home for Thanksgiving). My DH's side goes way overboard - or at least his parents do. I think the girls are getting a dress, a pair of PJs and then toys to share - a few puzzles, some games, I think some books. I don't know exactly but it ends up being a lot and not always the "right things" based on the girls ages (my girls are 4 and 6 and she is giving them a 1000 piece 3D puzzle this year - DH tried to explain to her that it was behind them at this point and she just didn't seem to get it). Some years she does better than others but she spends between $100-$200 on each. The stack of gifts for my twin nephews is a bit scary with how much she bought for them and most is big stuff so no clue what my SIL will do with it all. My girls also get 1 outfit from their great grandma on DH's side and something from each my SIL's on DH's side but they typically do 1 toy or outfit and 1 of my SIL"s always gives us money to put into the girls college fund as well.
This years budget for DS is $300 which is the most we've ever spent. Hes 3.5 years old. He has outgrown a lot of toys hes had since they were toddlerish toys. Plus he doesnt get a lot throughout the year except birthdays and Christmas. He has about 20 things to open.
He has a melissa & doug puppet theater, leaspter 2, Leapfrog Tag reader with books and activitiy packs, puzzle, a few board games, a matching ABC popsicle game, new shoes, jake and the neverland bath toy, pirate chest with pirate stuff in it, magna doodle, leapfrog phonics bucket, pretend shaving kit, art supplies, a toy cash registe, The Lorax dvd and a few more odds and ends. He will get pjs on Christmas eve and a new book.
Our budget changes every year. Last year money was tight so he got a lot of smaller things. He gets gifts from my sister, and my inlaws also.
Our limit this year is $500, but that includes a major wardrobe overhaul. So 3 pairs of jeans, a black dress coat for church, black dress shoes, church Christmas dress, 4 sweaters, 2 cardigans and hopefully another pair of shoes. A Nintendo DS with 2 games, easy bake food refill, art supplies like new glitter glue, construction paper, coloring book, markers, hello kitty glasses and earrings, power ranger figurines, 2 character dish sets, Brave movie, binoculars for when we go deer watching, princess ball gown, 2 ornaments, Operation board game. So far we've spent about $350, and the church clothes will obviously not be under the tree but they are factored into our Christmas time budget.
I'm ok with spending a lot of money as long as I get good deals, I am a serious clearance rack deal shopper. Like all 3 pairs of jeans from Macy's were less then $10 each, the ball gown was like $8 b/c I bought it after Halloween when costumes were 75% off, the ornaments were free from a $10 off of $10 purchase at Kohl's, the DS is refurbished. We just really believe in stretching our money as far as possible but not by skimping on quality.
I don't even want to add it up! I am sure we are on the higher side after reading these posts, but I don't feel we really have all that much stuff. I do like to buy good quality stuff that will last and that I hope they will play with for a long time. They are getting
Winter PJs
Winter outfit plus some addl clothing items
Snowpants/boots/mittens/hats--this alone was probably near $75 for both and those were deals.
roughly five additional toy type items/child (I.e. Doll Clothes, blocks, stuffed animals, toy truck, board games, little play sets); a couple kid CDs
I think I'm going to get scooters and helmets
They each get an ornament each year.
Some presents will be from Santa and some from us.
We are giving DS his big b-day gift at Christmas now b/c he was so overwhelmed at his b-day that we decided to just hold it, so he is getting a big train set.
$40 for his gift on Christmas morning. We are doing an advent calendar that involves toys, activities and on somedays a little piece of candy.
DS receives so many gifts from DH's side of the family and gets toys all year. His playroom is FULL. I just went through and donated items and gave a big box of toys to my niece and 2 nephew.
We are just over $200 he is getting a digital camera and a childsize recliner from santa. He is getting a wooden train from me and a wooden bulldozer from his dad we are giving him a rug with a road on it from both of us.

same here! i am not a fan of the gluttony of kids opening one thing after another, wrapping paper everywhere, not even focusing on the gift but just rushing onto the next one. last year DD had five (small) gifts under the tree and we stopped to play with each one as we opened it. it was really nice.
i buy stuff throughout the year on clearance or at consignment sales (it's still new to her)... i never track how much i spend but it's really low. i haven't bought anything in months, so it's really nice to avoid the christmas shoppers too!
I'm a Christmas fanatic... so we do go a little crazy, but their birthdays are in the summer, and we only get them little things for birthdays. We also don't buy a whole lot throughout the year. This year we spent about 475 on the 3 kids...
I'm also hitting the $1 store this weekend to get a few silly stocking stuffers.
I just added it up and for DS and DD we spent a total of $600. That's the most we've spent and includes their stockings.
DS birthday is in June so I always like to get him a bunch and DD bday is 3 days after Xmas so she is getting a new carseat for her Bday. Just ordered her a Pink Britax Frontier. No toys from us but she'll get plenty more from family.
Re: How much do you spend/ how many gifts do you get your LO for Christmas?
I think I've spent a little less than $300 all together this year.
eta: and that's like half a dozen gifts for both, small things for DS2 and a mix of small and big things for DS1.

I'm at about $200 for DS and $120 for DD
DS: bike, True Hero's western set, set of vehicle books, board game.
stocking: mickey movie, flashlight, batman bandaids, snacks,
family is getting him: Hot wheels tracks, digital camera, board game, batman car, clothes
DD: riding buggy by Step 2, personalized board book, leapfrog house
stocking: cinderella dvd, baby doll bottles, snacks, little people princesses
family is getting her: Little People castle, clothes, nesting cubes,
