There are a bunch of us now, and since after today everyone will have nothing left to do but wait for beta, I figured we could do a daily check-in to help pass the time and discuss how we're feeling, since we're likely to experience a broad range of emotions over the next week or so.
I'm still home on bed rest today, and then I think I'll head back to the office tomorrow, even though my boss is ok with my working from home tomorrow. I think the normalcy of the office might distract me a bit.
As far as how I feel about the likelihood about being pregnant, I see both sides of the coin. On the one hand, on paper, it looks like I should be, since things went virtually the same, if not a little better, than last time. On the other hand, though, we all know IF doesn't play fair, so there's always the chance that none of my embies will stick, and I'm keeping a bit busy researching why that might happen.
Enough about me, how's everyone else doing today? And of course, wishing the best of luck for girlie and kimber during your ETs today!
Re: Cycle buddies check-in
Read and replied to both updates, congrats again on successful ETs. I know you two might not be too active the rest of the day, thanks to the valium, but I was sitting here thinking with all my free time today, that while we are all doing IVF, we seem to have different situations leading up to them.
So, after making it all the way through IVF, save the remainder of the 2WW, it's time for a little GTKY. Here's what I am curious to know, and you can add any questions you like. If I'm being too nosy, just tell me. I just started realizing there were differences around ER/ET time based on reports and got curious.
1. Age and location
2. Did you experience IF for your first LO?
3. What is your diagnosis?
4. Previous treatments?
5. How did you decide on the number of embryos to transfer?
IVF #1: 9/11: ER: 12R, 11M, 10F, No Frosties; 5dt: 2 blasts, 1 morula; DD born 6/3/12
IVF #2: 11/12-12/12: ER: 20R, 20M, 16F, 4 Frosties; 5dt: 3 blasts, DS born 8/9/13
IVF #1: 9/11: ER: 12R, 11M, 10F, No Frosties; 5dt: 2 blasts, 1 morula; DD born 6/3/12
IVF #2: 11/12-12/12: ER: 20R, 20M, 16F, 4 Frosties; 5dt: 3 blasts, DS born 8/9/13

Oh, can I play?? Anything to take my mind off this 2WW.
1. Age and location
I'm 29 and live in the central/eastern part of MI.
2. Did you experience IF for your first LO?
No. I went off BC right after DH and I were married, and 3 months later I got my very first BFP. I never in a million years thought having a 2nd would be this difficult.
3. What is your diagnosis?
I've lost both my tubes to ectopic pregnancies.
4. Previous treatments?
None. After losing my 2nd tube in August, IVF was our only option to have a 2nd. So, here we are.
5. How did you decide on the number of embryos to transfer?
The decision was kind of made for us. They only retrieved 5, they were all mature, and only 3 fertilized. My clinic does 2 day transfers, and at that point they didn't think that any of those 3 would make it to freeze, so they suggested we transfer all 3. (4 cell, 3 cell, and 2 cell)
Great idea! I've been curious too!
1. Age and location: I'm 30 (31 next month) and I live in Texas
2. Did you experience IF for your first LO? I did not experience IF. I had 2 boys with my first husband and it took one try with the first and 2 tries for the second.
3. What is your diagnosis? Technically I am unexplained, but there seems to be a cervical factor. My cervical fluid kill my DH's sperm. He has no issues and I have no issues, but us together just doesn't want to work! Which really pisses me off because how can I have 2 kids with a crappy husband and can't get 1 with an awesome one!? Lol...oh well...
4. Previous treatments? We did 4 iuis..one with clomid and 3 with follistim and letrozole before moving to IVF.
5. How did you decide on the number of embryos to transfer? We went with what the embryologist and doctor suggested since they looked great! A "tiny" part of me still wanted to put in two since that is what we assumed what we would do and I almost got used to the idea of getting pregnant with twins...although I know that one would be ideal!
Absolutely. There were 4 of us originally, but anyone in the 2WW right now is welcome to join us, so welcome to the group!
IVF #1: 9/11: ER: 12R, 11M, 10F, No Frosties; 5dt: 2 blasts, 1 morula; DD born 6/3/12
IVF #2: 11/12-12/12: ER: 20R, 20M, 16F, 4 Frosties; 5dt: 3 blasts, DS born 8/9/13
Frostie update: Inspired by jeanna (speaking of whom, where the heck have you been hiding all day?), I put in a call to my nurse to see if any made it to freeze today.
Well she just called back and said they don't hear from the embryologist about them until next week, that it's usually a week after they finish with them. I think that's very strange, but I guess it explains why I never got a call last time.
So, no frostie updates for me until beta, but hopefully everyone else has the frosties they are expecting.
IVF #1: 9/11: ER: 12R, 11M, 10F, No Frosties; 5dt: 2 blasts, 1 morula; DD born 6/3/12
IVF #2: 11/12-12/12: ER: 20R, 20M, 16F, 4 Frosties; 5dt: 3 blasts, DS born 8/9/13
Wow, I missed a lot. I took on watching a little boy Tuesdays/Thursdays to make some extra cash for this IF stuff. "Chewy" as my DS calls him and my Owen had me running crazy today. I, also, got a call from the embryologist this morning that nothing made it to freeze and got bummed out. I had started reading a book yesterday and got roped in. FYI: I just finished it and yes, I am an extremely fast reader. So, we just finished laundry and dishes and DH and are sitting down with our laptops while we watch our shows, so I might be a post'aholic as I catch up on everything!
Nawlins. Love the idea of the check in every day! And the questions!
1. Age and location 32, Middle of NC
2. Did you experience IF for your first LO? Yes, you can read all about it in my siggy
3. What is your diagnosis? Self diagnosis is bad eggs. This IVF cycle is confirming my theory. My RE seemed to agree at our 1st consult, the embryologist seemed to think I might have an issue maturing the eggs.
4. Previous treatments? clomid + TI, 1 IUI, 3 injectable cycles, and now this IVF cycle
5. How did you decide on the number of embryos to transfer? The embryologist told us to do 2, now I kinda wish we had put the 3 one in (the 8 cell) as we knew the 5 cell wasn't going to make it.

I missed having you to talk with, but glad you're able to do what you need to take care of things, and keep yourself better distracted than I/we could have.
I'm so sorry you didn't get a frostie, especially since those two sounded so promising. That's kind of the reason I'm not letting myself count on having any...I don't want to get my hopes up and be disappointed. Ultimately, I hope that none of us needs any frosties (unless planning on even more kids, but I'm out if I get another one).
I'm glad this thread is going over well with everyone. I'm thinking of changing the title to 2WW instead of cycle buddies, since we have at least one more person in the 2WW (Mrs. Erin), and there may be others out there we don't know about who want to participate.
I had more questions for tomorrow, but I can't think of them now. Hopefully they will re-emerge, plus all these other great minds can contribute as well.
And now, with my full day's ramblings complete, I bid my fellow PUPOs goodnight!

Can I just say that I am so happy this 2WW wait is during this time of year...I am so busy with shopping, holiday parties, and work...such a great distraction!
1. I am 31 and live at the Jersey Shore...Sandy interupted our cycle for sure, but it was meant to be, because my parents ended up staying with us for a week and that would have been tricky with injections. So we ended up staying on bcp for longer and now I am with you lovely ladies.
2. No at all...DD wasn't planned but the most amamzing surprise. Looking back now, I should have suspected something, because we did dry for a few months right after we were married, but I just figured I was timing things wrong.
3. Diminshed ovarian reserve.
4. Clomind, acupuncuture, 3IUIs
5. I discussed single embryo transfer with the embryologist and doc prior to the transfer and when we went in yesterday, they presented us with one great looking blasyocyst, which then left us one definite to freeze. I am not a holy roller, but I prayed for one rock star and my prayers were answered, it was a very emotional day. I also have a mini panic attack when I think about twins.
Nawlin-great idea calling it 2ww! The more the merrier!
Girlie-ummm yes! I think we would be due Aug 22nd and we would prob have a c/s at 39 weeks if it was just one baby....if 2...I can't go there!
starting my POAS count down: 4 more sleeps.
