Prodromal Labor Sucks

So all day yesterday I was having contractions, some more painful than others, but all about 6-7 minutes apart. It started at 4am and started getting worse as the day went on. So I went in to see my doctor at 4pm and she checked me and said I was definitely contracting and was between 2-3cm dilated. So off to the hospital I went!

 

Unfortunately even though the monitors showed me contracting every 2-3 minutes (and some were about a 7 on my pain scale) they ended up turning me away since I didn't dilate any more after a few hours.

Anyone else go through this in the past? The nurse said she expected to see me back today in "real" labor- but I'm not optimistic.

    Grrrr I have been in this same situation 5 times in the last month!! Went to hospital, got hooked up to monitors, contracted every 3 to 4 mins but they refused to keep me since I wasn't dilating past a 3. So frustrating! Today is my due date so if and when it happens again I hope they do keep me before my scheduled induction!

    Sorry, no experience with that here... I'm a FTM and have yet to feel a contraction.  I just wanted to say good luck and I hope you progress soon!

    I had that with my last pregnancy, and it does suck!  My OB actually told me to go home and have a glass of wine, and that I'd probably be back the next day...I was HAPPY to follow that advice :)  I was back 3 days later after my water broke in the middle of the night.  I also had my mom make me Scalini's eggplant parm recipe, and while its probably a coincidence, it's worth a shot!  It was delicious!

    Oh honey, I hate to freak you out, but I've been in it for 9 days now. I am so at my wits end. I'm not getting any sleep, I am being a total b to DS which breaks my heart he is so understanding and sweet and lovable and DH. I am in pain and on edge wondering if every time the get regular if its finally time. Then after a few hours of regular timeable contractions they go back to random crap. My ob is shocked, literally shocked I'm still pregnant. I have two nsts scheduled for this weekend and induce next week. Though I did go from. 1 to 2.5 in 5 days. So they doing something. Hang in there.

    Oh man, I'm not in prodromal labor (knock on wood) but I feel for you ladies! That sounds so exhausting and frustrating.
