I'm just starting out with the photography stuff. I have some good photos already. We went out and bought a good camera. A nikon D3100. It takes great photos. I'm still practicing and learning how it works.
But I had a question. I want to take a family picture in front the tree. But I haven't figure out how to get the light right. Any suggestions?
Re: Any photography moms?
I became a SAHM when DD was born but launched my photography business this past summer. I've been doing it for a while--just never professionally.
This is a good tutorial page that gives pretty much the same advice as what I would do. This way I don't have to type it all out

ETA: It could be difficult if you don't have a speedlight though--and don't use the pop-up flash directly if you can help it. Try to bounce the flash some way:

I have the same camera (love it, btw!), and haven't mastered tree lighting yet, either.. let me know if you figure out which setting works best!
I just ordered the 18-200mm lens for myself for Christmas
I LOVE taking pictures of DS
This is great advice! I'm an amateur at best. I have the Nikon D3000 and love it. I really wish I could take a photography class though. I do have some tutorials posted on Pinterest though.
