So we are supposed to have dinner with some relatives next Monday night and I get a text saying that my husband's uncle just had the Shingles vaccine yesterday and the nurse tells him to not hold any babies for two weeks until the vaccine has taken effect. In the text she (my husband's aunt) says that he keeps a band-aid over the spot where the shot was taken and that he will keep his distance from my 7 month old....now I am torn whether I should just reschedule the dinner or still go and just keep our distance from the uncle? Has anyone had any experience with a situation like this?
Re: Being around someone who just had the Shingles vaccine?
If the doctor told him to not be around babies for 2 weeks, then I would reschedule.
But it does seem kind of weird.
