Adoption

At long last...

We are finally home study approved!  It took 4 1/2 months, much prodding from our SW, and intervention from our state senator, but the fingerprints finally came back and we had the final interview, at our home, yesterday.  Our foster care license will be processed and dated as of today!  I am so excited to have this all behind us.  I am sure waiting will be its own kind of torture, but at least we know we are ready to jump on a call when it does come.

Yay!

  • Congrats! I would be ready because they say more kids come into care during the holidays. It took our phone 5 days to ring and it never stopped once it started. Keep up posted. You will jump out of your skin each time the phone rings! What are you age preferences?

  • Happy, happy!  Exciting times!  I hope the phone rings a thousand times!

(Okay, so I just added that "a thousand times" part in because it rhymes.  And so does "rhymes."  Look at me, I'm a poet, and didn't even know it!)

  • Yay!! That's great news, congratulations!!

We are actually doing domestic infant adoption, but in Illinois we are required to have a foster care license to adopt. I don't know how common that is, but whatever. It's done now! :)

    Thanks everyone!
