So it looks like i may be hosting the annual christmas dinner with my bffs. Bff #1''s son is allergic to gluten and her H is on a strict diet for his cancer, which rules out anything that may cause gas. If i ask her what i should make, she will give me an extremely complicated recipe that has to be made exactly to her specs, so I'd rather just figure something out on my own that fits.
Suggestions? Should i just roast a chicken or something?
Re: gluten free meals
I am not really a shallot fan, and with sweet potatoes they sound even grosser, but thanks for the suggestion.
haha, no. I saw the first one and threw up in my mouth a little. :P
some of them look alright but there are alot of bean recipes. I will have to check everyone out a little more closely.
My H is gluten free, and I think the hardest thing is dessert. The best thing I've found that doesn't taste gluten free is a flourless chocolate cake. I love this one: https://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/34481867/ns/today-food/t/flourless-chocolate-espresso-cake-berries/
I think it's a great idea to roast a chicken and do potatoes or rice and a veggie. If you want to do bread/rolls just do regular, not gluten free, and ask your friend to bring something for her son. She will be used to it and every person likes a different recipe/brand for bread. And anyone not gluten free will think the bread is icky.
