baby clothes

I'm going through gifts from my shower and came across a bag of baby clothes. I was reading the labels for washing instructions and noticed it said "not intended for sleepwear". Anyone know what that's about? They're really soft little onsies and bottoms that I had planned on letting her sleep in.

    I wonder if it has something to do with the fire retardent standards for children's sleepware?  Like, if you put the tag on it, you don't have to meet the standards?

    Yes, this is why. But I can't imagine a person in the world who would actually wake a baby up to change it into something fire retardant for their 20 min- 1hr naps as newborns.

    This. Clothing intended for sleepwear has to meet strict standards, either using flame retardant chemicals or meet other criteria like being snug fitting throughout (many sleeper styles don't require flame retardants for this reason).
