Anyone Deliver Twins at Providence Southfield

I'm 11 weeks pregnant w/twins. I delivered my daughter at providence 5 years ago and really liked it, but now that I'm having twins I wonder if I should switch to a doc at St. John Main where they have a level III NICU. I'm also 38 so that can cause complications as well. I asked my dr about switching to a high risk ob and she didn't think that was necessary, but based on her answer I don't think she "got" that I was willing to change hospitals. I think at Providence there aren't necessarily high risk OB practices but you get specialized diagnostic testing at maternal fetal medicine but stay with your regular doc.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone had experience w/a similar situation at providence.

Thanks

  • Providence Southfield is a Level 3 NICU.  Providence Novi is only a Level 2.  I deliver at Novi and if I go anytime before 32w I have to go to Southfield for the NICU.

  • I had twins at Prov Southfield just over 4 years ago and had a wonderful experience.

I delivered vaginally at 36 weeks and the babies required no NICU time.

They have a great NICU however and you can tour there given you are a high risk pregnancy.
