Best floors for baby's room?

Hello! What are the best floor's for a baby's room in terms of no VOC's, maybe even something a little soft? Open to floors, rugs, etc. ideas. I am pregnant and the whole upstairs is wall to wall carpet but I'd like to rip it up at least in the nursery before little one arrives. Thanks ahead of time!

I think real hardwoods! But we are currently on the market for a nursery rug, so we have something soft as well. No advice really since I just started my research.

We put in bamboo last fall before DD was born and love it so far.

ETA: We have some rugs down in play areas.

I think real wood is the best but not if it is on top of particle board because of that glue. Older rugs that are made with wool or other natural fibers are good because they dont' have or have lost most of the VOCs they may have had. US wood and US rugs made locally would be best because imports have to have preservatives and chemicals to reduce the risk of invasive species coming in into the country.
