Any home remedies for a cold?

I have a terrible head cold I have just been sleeping with vicks on my throat and chest.  I have also been using a vaporizer at night to help clear me up.  Other than that I am just trying to eat extra fruit and vegetables.  Tylenol won't do anything for me since I have no fever. 

I am really congested in my nose any home remedies you may have will be greatly appreciated!

    Saline drops. But you should contact your doctor. There are a lot of medicines that are safe during pregnancy.

    I am sorry you aren't feeling well, it is definitely going around.  Drink lots of fluids and get lots of rest.  I hope you feel better soon!

    I have a cold, too, and I just ran out of tissues at my desk.  Ugh!  I've been drinking lots of water to flush my system.  Hopefully I don't get any worse because I've never gone without taking meds for a cold before.  Hang in there and drink lots of water.  It definitely is going around.  :(

    Thanks everyone it is bearable I just keep blowing my nose non stop since I am so early and this is my 1st pregnancy I am a worry wort and would rather not take any meds if I can just deal with it.  I am going to bed early every night and have a 3 day weekend so hopefully a lot of rest and fluids will help me.

    I have used a neti pot for the past 4 or 5 years. It is really helpful and med free!

    High LH/FSH Ratio 8/12
    DX with PCOS 11/12
    Clomid 50mg - 19.5mm Follie - Trigger + TI = BFP! 11/12

    I have read about these but the scare me lol.  Do you feel like you are drowning when you use it?  I always imagie it to feel like I do when water goes up my nose in the ocean.  Maybe I will give it a shot.  Can I buy one at a regular drug store?

    Take a steam bath with eucalyptus in it, drink lots of warm tea and rest as much as possible. Sorry that you're feeling so poorly, I've had a stuffy nose for a few days now too.

    The first time is a little weird, I won't lie! But seriously, after that it is no big deal. It actually feels kind of good because it helps to clear you up. I got mine at CVS. I am sure any drugstore would have them.

    I didn't used to (didn't know at the time) use bottled water or boiled water. I think this is pretty important as regular water can be contaminated and cause you more problems so now I always use bottled or I boil it and let it cool before I use it!

    If you use lukewarm water and the little saline packets that they come with, it isn't bad at all!

    I second the neti pot idea. I used to use one and just switched this year to the NeilMed squeeze bottle, which applies a low pressure of saline to irrigate your sinuses instead of just using gravity like a neti pot. I get frequent sinus infections and this really helps.

    I was totally scared too, but it is totally worth it, try it and you will get used to it!  I love mine!!!  I got mine over the counter at my pharmacy.  It came little salt packs to dissolve in the water and was like $14

    My doc says Musinex is safe to take as long as you keep hydrated.  I had a cold last week and that's what he recommended.  Worked like a charm!
    2 early M/Cs earlier this year at 4 weeks 4 IUIs with Clomid 1st Beta 129!!!
