What's the one gift you found for someone that you know is going to kick as$ this year (or previous years)?

For me - it's my grandma.  At her 80th birthday a few years ago, we got a picture of her and her DH (not my grandfather), all 9 of her kids and their spouses - something they haven't been able to do for 20 years or so.  I hit up Snapfish's sale and ordered that print in a 60"x80" woven throw.  I fully expect tears lol.

    My brother! DH found head phones at work for $300. The employee discount is $250. Then he gets an accommodation rebate of $250= free!

    And he's going to love them!

    It was a few years I ago -- I was antiquing with MIL and she kept pointing out pieces that looked like a little tea set she had when she was little. I don't think she was at all hinting toward anything, but I made a mental note and found the entire tea set in it's original box on ebay and scooped it up for a Christmas gift. It was so awesome to see her surprise! The tea set is now proudly displayed in her China cabinet.

    I may have puffed my chest out a little that Christmas. :)

    In 2010 when the Giants won the world series I made H one of those fleece tie blankets. It was really easy to make but getting the material in Illinois was ridiculously hard so I was really proud of it. He loves to be cozy and LOVED it.

    Last year my H got me my iPad so he got to see me very surprised but I just got him a perfume and he knew it. THIS year I'm the one with the awesome surprise gift. H want a remote control car. He knows I'm gonna get him some mechanics gloves but I went to get him a RC and I got it! And is the racing car type he likes and is a Mitsubichi... His racing car is a Mitsubichi so his face is gonna be PRICELESS!!!! This year I'm gonna be the cool one :)

     Eta: I did got him the gloves. I mean is promise is a promise :P

    I'm super excited about the coasters I made H. I'm not great at picking out gifts that have meaning.. So I think I did pretty good :)

    this isn't a huge win. I haven't found that gift yet, but I got my dad a bottle opener shaped like the original enterprise. He likes beer and star trek so I consider it a double win. :P
