NonStress Test

I'm 3 days away from my due date and had my weekly doctor's visit today. Still not dilated and the docotor scheduled me for next Wednesday to have a nonstress test. This is if LO doesn't come before that time. I've been pretty normal throughout the pregnancy and this is my first one. Just was wondering if anyone else had to get a nonstress test. Gosh I can't wait to meet her.

I do one every week. Its just extra monitoring. They check babies HR and see if your having contractions and babies movement during a period of time. Good luck!

I had them weekly from 32 wks on with my first 2 kids. Like pp said it's a simple test. I had a comfy chair, put my feet up and tried not to fall asleep. Not falling asleep was the hardest part.

I'm scheduled for one on Monday. Does anyone know about how long they take?

I had one when my BP was slightly elevated at 34 weeks. Lay in the hospital bed with monitors on your belly and click a button when you feel baby move. I ended up being there for close to 3 hours because the nurses were moving slow and not paying much attention and I was also waiting on bloodwork results, but I was told to expect it to take an hour.

I'm scheduled for one on Saturday and Sunday. Mine is for two hours because they are putting that stuff on/in? My cervix to try to get me to go into active labor on my own. If I don't have LO by Monday we are inducing in hopes of preventing me from tearing like i did before and avoiding worse lasting side effects from said tear. I have also been in prodromal for 8 days and am soooooo miserable, no sleep, constant contractions.... Hopefully your LO comes soon!
