2nd Trimester

Please help me name this baby!

My DS1 is Braden Michael. We do a non-biblical first name and a biblical middle name as is tradition in my fam. I kind of prefer an Irish/Gaelic first name, but it is not absolutely necessary.

We have thrown around:
Liam John
Jacob Matthew (not loving the double Bible name combo though)
Ethan Jacob (same thin)

I like Liam, but when my son and others say it, they say it fast and it sounds like someone saying "lamb" with a southern accent.

So please give me suggestions - I'm completely stumped!
Brady (7.15.10) and Nolan (5.11.13)

  • I love Ethan and Jacob. What about Eli?

Hey! :) Eli is another I have been thinking about, but hasn't quite made it to the list yet.  Eli Joseph?

  • I love Ethan, but I'm biased. My Ds is Ethan Alexander.

I also love Jacob and if this baby is a boy, it's a name we're considering.

  • *waves* Hi SPK. :)

I actually like all of them. Liam is my favorite (because we were considering it too, lol). I also really like Jacob Matthew. The double Bible name thing doesn't bother me. I don't think I would have thought about it if you hadn't pointed it out.

Hey!!! And congrats on your pregnancy! Do you know what you're having yet? How are you and how are you feeling?

I like Jacob Matthew too - it's good to know others don't really think about or notice that it is 2 Bible names.

  • I think more classic name then biblical although they are both.

Irish names - Cullen or Declan are cute.

  • I love the name Ethan, it was at the top of my list but DH nixed it because of popularity.  What about Levi?  That was at the top of DH's list but I nixed that one hahaha.

    Yes

  • Liam is cute but getting a little too trendy for my taste. I really like Declan for a traditional Irish name as well.

  • I mentioned on another post that We're naming our son Todd Owen. Other front runners on my list were Graham, Judah/Jude, Levi, Silas and Titus. I like all of your choices. Good luck choosing!

  • How do you feel about Patrick John?  I love the name Patrick, but it's too prevelant in both of our families for me to add another.  DS is Liam Robert and if this one is a boy, he will be Conor (another possible option for you?).

  • I love Liam for you!  I wouldn't worry about how he says it.  We decided on Piper for this one and Mason says his sister's name is Pepper :)

  • I really like Liam, that would be my vote! Have you considered Connor or Logan for a first name. We have friends with little boys named Connor and Logan, and I think both names are cute.

  • The name that I liked that my fiance does not like is Brennan.
  • If our baby is a boy, his name will be Liam.  No one in my family can pronounce it correctly (they end up saying "limb" or "lime" - drives me crazy) and they sort of make fun of the name, but we love it and it's the only name we've even considered for a boy.  So I just go with the mindset that it's my child and their opinion (& lack of being able to speak properly) doesn't matter.  If you like the name Liam, go with it... everyone will eventually learn to pronounce it :-)

  • Liam used to be my number one name choice, until I told my husband.... he HATES it. I was really sad for awhile. However, I did notice that Liam is incredibly popular... I even saw a few websites that listed it as the number one name this year.

I would personally avoid Jacob like the plague because of Twilight.... it's also super popular.

I like Ethan a lot! But I would probably still name my DS Liam if my hubs would let me.

  • I tend to go for names not as popular as the ones you have listed.

What about Graeme Matthew, Patrick John, Declan Matthew, Jamison John(JJ for a nn?), Killian Matthew?

Our front runner is Patrick Dean
