I have been stopped up and coughing for a week and a half now. I have taken the approved Tylenol Cold and Flu and its not doing anything. I am being induced on the 14th and don't wanna be sick during labor! What else should I take?
Well if it is a virus, there isn't much you can take that will make it go away. All of that stuff will just help alleviate the symptoms. I think they say rest is the best way to fight off a virus? I'm sorry you're sick!
cold/congestion: sudafed, actifed, chlortrimeton, tavist d, tylenol sinus non drowsy
cough: robitussin dm
sore throat: cepacol lozenges or spray, sucrets, warm salt water gargles
I had a nasty cold, and as pp says all you can do is treat symptoms. However I found that the best for me was a mix of tylonal, sudafed, and mucinex kids (lowest dose is okay).
Me too! I only get sick once a year or every other year and now I've been sick for 9 days and refuse to take anything other than regular strength tylenol because I'm freakin' stubborn. I drink a ton of water, can't sleep at night but nap a lot during the day and have been eating a lot of foods which are supposed to help with colds. Nothing has worked. I will say that today I feel a tad better. But I have NEVER been sick for this long before. My inductoin is scheduled in six days and I can only hope, pray...and sleep....in hopes that I will not only not be better but won't get re-sick as my immune system is clearly not on top of it's game.
Sleep, sleep, sleep, Vitamin C, zinc and fluids. Hope you feel better!
Get a humidifier! We bought a nice, cold-air, Vicks Vapor Mist one for baby (the Vapor Rub inserts are optional) and I used it when I had a really bad cold. Made me feel a thousand times better, practically overnight. Hopefully you get to feeling better soon! Robutussin also helped a lot.
