With #1 I was at work on my due date and told them that was enough. I went into labor that night.
I'm due February 16th and told them my last day before my leave would be the 14th. I think two days to relax and stay home will be good. And we can have a nice romantic V-day before #2 arrives.

With DD#1 I intended to work up until my due date, but my OB took me off work two weeks before. At my appointment that week, he took one look at my BP and said, "Nope, you're done!"
This time, I work from home as an online Assistant Teacher for a university. I probably won't take any time off unless I am not scheduled for another course.

If I remember correctly, you're a nurse. This makes you a rockstar in my mind. My doc said he usually has nurses go to 36 weeks. For me that's 5 wks 4 days from now, Jan 14th. I suppose I could tell him I could go longer if I feel okay by then, but I'm not sure I will. The twelves are really hard already for me.
I will work until I go into labor. If I still lived an hour from the office (instead of fifteen minutes), I might reconsider that, though.
The only thing that might change my plan is if I have days of non-progressing but distracting contractions. Then I'll work from home. A good friend went through that situation recently, and she couldn't quit early because she was training her replacement. Even though her contractions were really infrequent (less than one an hour), they were still strong enough to make her catch her breath - and six or so noticeable contractions a day will definitely make your co-workers drop everything and rush to your side at high alert. Having to say, "No, I promise, I will not have the baby here" a half a dozen times a day to a crowd of co-workers is not my cup of tea. I'd stay home!
This! I have vacation to take...
Me too !! I can't wait !!
my mom is a nurse and with my brother she worked until the day she was induced.... of course she kind of is a rock star though
Haha, yes I am a nurse, but I only work part time now, and no 12-hour shifts. I alternate two or three 8-hour shifts a week (plus call time, but we don't usually get called in). So not too bad. I considered starting leave a week earlier, but decided I'd rather just take it all after the baby is here. If I were doing 12's, I'm sure I would be starting leave earlier! 12's sucked when I wasn't pregnant!

It kinda sucks that we're in one of the three countries in the world that doesn't provide paid maternity leave. I'm planning on working up until 2 to 4 weeks before my due date. I originally planned to work until the due date but I read a new study that shows working late in pregnancy can be just as bad for your baby's birth weight as smoking the whole time. I'm sure that info is mainly just for certain types of jobs but I don't like my job well enough to bother risking it.
Here's one article about the study (the actual study is a statistical snoozer to read): https://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2012/jul/28/working-eight-months-pregnancy-smoking
My c-section is scheduled for Fri Feb 8th....I was planning on Tues Feb 5th being my last day since I work in accounting and the third business day of the month is our previous month end close. However I'm starting to reconsider due to the stressful environment....I might stop earlier depending on how I hold up!!!
With DD I took off the day before I was to be induced. I had her that day though.
All of this. I can't afford any leisurely days pre labor.
I plan to work until I go into labor, and am actually hoping this baby is late so I don't have to take as much leave without pay (I am returning to work the Tuesday after Memorial Day no matter when she comes) - if she is a week late, that would be a 16-week leave which I would be very happy about.
Luckily, I can telework - I plan to upping my number of work from home days in January, especially towards the end.
