NBR- Rec. Your Iphone/Ipod dock speakers

I want to get a little docking station for DH so he can listen to music on his phone on little speakers.  I know nothing about this stuff.  I looked yesterday and the guy at the store demonstrated how awesome the Dr. Dre Beatbox sounded (nearly $400) compared to the $100 Sony one that is more my price range.  I'd like it to sound decent, but it's probably just going in our bedroom and won't get played too often.

    We have the Logitech one I'm PIPing.  It wasn't hugely expensive, very portable and works well.  I'm sure there are better ones out there, but it does the job and has some nice features (charges the iPod as long as it's plugged in, but can also work on battery power; has a remote; compact and comes with a travel case).  Oh, and it works with any iPod or iPhone styles.

    I do love our Bose docking station, but it is expensive. We do bring it everywhere though - when we go away, to parties, etc.  We got it for our wedding 3 years ago and it was well worth the money! 

    Does he have the iPhone 4 or 5?  I only ask because my docking station fits the 4 and below, but then I got the 5 and had to get the adapter.

    Ruelala just sold out on the speaker docking stations Brookstone was selling.  There are still some items on sale, but not the speakers.

    We have these and love them.  They can be wireless and run through Bluetooth if you want them to.  It's a nice feature to have so you can change the song without being next to the speakers.

    He has the 4 and I have the 5, but it will be more for him.  I am thinking of the Bose b/c I know it would be a good one and there's one that's like $225 at HH Gregg and it was also on sale on Amazon (yesterday).

    My DH used to design speaker systems and iPod docks for Altec Lansing before they closed. I'm partial to them, plus since my DH did the work its actually awesome sounding. Way better than that Bose crap...

    I have this one:  Altec Lansing Octiv Mini - $50.00

    It gets the job done.  iPhone 4-4s compatible  iPhone 5 works with adapter from Apple.
