Frequency of Acupuncture?

I have a Chiropractor that also offers Acupuncture. Honestly, I started going to their office back in March for the Acu to begin with but since my ins. covers Chiro not Acu.,  I went that route instead.

Now that I'm starting up IVF #3 in a few weeks I figured , what the hay. Plus, the owner is more like a friend at this point since she lives close by and is the same age as me. She's offered to give me a payment plan to make it more financially doable...and to get my husband to agree to it, haha!! 

She recommends twice a week and left it up to me as to when to start up. I scheduled my first two appts. the first week in January (start of stims), but I'm wondering if maybe I should start now?!? Any thoughts?

I'd like to do this mainly for relaxation and destressing. I've done Acupuncture before but not on a consistant basis , so I don't have an idea on how long it takes of consistant use to feel any semi-permanent results. I was super relaxed everytime I left the office but the next day I'd be back to crazy.

    I went once a week during suppression (BCP/Lupron) and twice a week through Stims. I also went right after ET. My acupuncturist was good about telling me how frequently was necessary during the process. 
    Dx PCOS 2006 - on Metformin
    Dx Hypothyroid 2009 - on Synthroid
    TTC since 12/2009
    DH - Low Sperm Count

    IVF with ICSI Cycle #1 - October/November- 10/11 Begin Lupron, 10/20 Begin 300iu Gonal-F, Trigger 10/31, ER 11/2, 12 retrieved, 11 mature, 6 fertilized, ET 11/5 - 2 Grade 1 8 cells, 2 frozen blasts (5BA, 3BB), Beta #1 @ 8dp3dt: 7, Beta #2 @ 11dp3dt: 2 :(

    IVF with ICSI Cycle #2 - January - 12/30 Begin Lupron, 1/8 Begin 300iu Gonal-F, ER 1/20, 13 retrieved, 11 mature, 6 fertilized, ET 1/25 - 2 blasts (grades 4BA, 1)

    My acupuncturist has me going 2X a week.  It will be more often around ER and ET times. FWIW, I would start now if you could and it's financially possible for you.  The more you can do to get your body ready for IVF the better.

    2 times/week here too prior to ER which was yesterday. My next appt will be on the same day as ET. I go to a group that specializes in acupuncture for fertility and my acupuncturist said 2 times/week during stims is what's recommended.

    Unmedicated and medicated IUI's: all fail
    IVF #1: Dec 2012 16m/15f 12/9: 5dt of 2 beautiful blasts and 5 frosties

    July 29: FET-BFN

    Sept: TAC placed

    Oct 27: FET #2-Cancelled-monster cyst producing insane amounts of estrogen

    I am actually starting acupuncture today and was also recommended 2x a week. I am going to Harmony Health is Chicago. Anyone go there? She specializes only in women's health and fertility. She said she suggests her patients start treatments 3 months before IVF. Oops, I figured a few weeks before was fine. Besides for blood flow to the uterus and lining, she went on about blood flow to the follicles/eggs to promote the most amount and healthiest follicles to develop for IVF treatments. I guess that takes a few months. I hadn't heard that before. Who knows?! I think anything is better than nothing, and it certainly can't hurt! If anything, it helps to feel calm and relaxed.

     Me (34)- no issues found MH (36)- MFI due to Vericocele. Straight to IVF w/ICSI 9/12, Antagonist. 9R, 7M, 5F = BFN c/p,  New RE for IVF #2- 1/13., Long Lupron. ER on 1/22 -10R, 9M, 9F. Transfer on hold due to overstimming. FET in Feb. 2 frozen blasts. Another BFN & another c/p. RPL testing all negative besides MTHFR gene, vericocle repair surgery 4/12/13-Bilateral Grade 3 Vericocele found & fixed, IVF #3 with PGS  4/13- 11R, 9M, 9F. Transferred 2 normal=BFN, 3 normal on ice. CCRM-here we come! ODWU-All test results normal. EPP in August. 21R, 20M, 19F. 12 blasts biopsied & frozen for CCS testing. Results showed 11 normal! FET Oct. 30. 2 5d 4AA blasts transferred. First ever BFP!!! Beta 1=216, Beta 2=870 1st U/S=It's TWINS!!! It's a BOY and a GIRL!! Everyone Welcome!!!

    I'm going to acupuncture once a week, while we wait for our first IVF cycle. I have heard it's better to start a month or more prior to IVF cycle, then increase appts to twice a week while on stims. I will then have acupuncture prior to ER, ET and after ET. I'm really enjoying acupuncture. Good luck

    i am doing every five days (MF one week, W the next week). i really enjoy it during the physical and emotional stress of this process.
