Up until Monday, baby has been moving around just fine... In fact, I joked that she's either going to be a boxer or a soccer star. Yesterday morning, they checked her and her HB was fine, but I said that she's been more quiet and I hadn't felt her much yet yesterday. They said if I didn't feel her 5 times in an hour or 10 times over two hours to call. It hasn't been quite an hour that we've been up this morning, but not feeling her and worrying. I'm sure she's fine and I'm just being a paranoid FTM... I'm mostly just trying to pass the time until I either feel her or its been long enough to call. Good thoughs would be appreciated.
Update: The lesson that we learned this morning is that our LO likes to perform for others. Our OB was reassuring, but wanted us to get checked out anyway. So, we drove over and got all hooked up. For the first hour or so, still nothing -- So, then they gave me 3-4 large glasses of juice (like the size of a fountain soda) and called in the OB that was on-call from our practice today. Apparently the combo of massive quantities of sugar and having someone else to perform for did the trick bc she's fine now. I'm glad that I went in bc I really do feel much better. Thanks everyone for the good thoughts.
Re: Worrying FTM... (Update)
Have you followed the "kick count" procedures? This is what they were talking about at your appt. You should be able to google b/c obviously I am no expert but I've felt the same way. I was told by my midwives to drink something cold, something with some sugar in it and to lay down on my left side. I have twins so there's always one I don't feel as much so I lay down on the side I know that baby is on and drink REALLY cold water or have some ice cream (woohoo!) and it works 99% of the time.
I"m sure everything is fine but 100% completely understand why you worry - you wouldn't be a mom if you didn't!
I've been having the same worries with my LO. He's switched positions, and just doesn't seem as active. And I've had many scares in the morning too, but he always starts moving a bit after I eat - I think he's just a slow starter (or maybe it takes a bit for my blood sugar to rise once I eat something this early?).
Just wanted to send some reassurance your way. Hope your LO wakes up and rocking and rolling so you can stop worrying! But call your doc if you get really worried. Intuition is a good thing, even for paranoid FTMs like us!
