Cleaning up

J has really gotten into picking things up and "putting them away." We were in his room today and he decided that everything HAD to go into his clothes hamper. And he couldn't consolidate trips- he'd grab one diaper and pop it in. Then one shoe and then a book, etc. It was cracking me up, watching him discover new things to throw in there, i just pulled things put when his back was turned to save me the hassle later. I have 2 hopes in regards to this new skill. First, I hope it does not translate to putting everything in the toilet. That would suck. Second, I hope this carries on into his teenage years. That would be awesome.

Re: Cleaning up

  • Max is into putting things away too. We clean up his toys multiple times daily. It warms my little OCD heart!

  • First, I hope you have locks on your toilet! Second, I hope J rubs off on Bo!! I do not think he has gotten the clean up memo just yet!!

  • They are so funny! Owen has been putting everything in the trash can. we lost his monitor for a whole day and found it in there. then his shoes were missing for a day and a half until I thought to look in the trash.

    I love this story!

I forgot! Bo does love to throw away his diapers! It is hard for him to know Stinky diapers go outside in a big trash can while the wet ones can go in the diaper genie!

It is so confusing being 14 months!!

  • L loves to "pick up" everything, except her toys!  She loves to put things in containers, but has a hard time parting with toys when it's time to clean up.  We're working on that skill though!

Aw! H is the same way, OCDwise.

  • Please tell him to teach J how to do this, because is the total opposite.  He refuses to let anything in it's proper place - his blanket can't hang off the side of the crib, nope, it's on the floor.  Books on the bookshelf are thrown on the floor, toys are taken out of the toybox, etc.

    It's exhausting!
