Where does your LO nap?

Usually I let LO nap where ever he falls. Sometimes its on the couch, in the swing, in my arms, in the carseat if we're out. He naps at the same time everyday and will just sleep where ever he's at (which is wonderful!) but I'm wondering if I need to start a small routine with him for nap time now that he's getting older and isn't napping as hard.

At night, FWIW, I always give him a bath, play with him in bed for a little bit, then I give him a warm bottle and lay him down with his paci while he's awake. He usually is out in about ten minutes and sleeps for 11 to 12 hours.

During the day lately he's been fighting naps. My MIL let him skip naps and get over tired while she was watching him so I'm sure thats contributing to the problem. Just now I changed him and rocked him for a few minutes before putting him in his crib to nap (He's only slept in his crib once...even though I was very 'crib-from-night-one' while pregnant. *eyeroll*)

What do you do for naps? Do you have a routine or just go with it?

DS naps in his crib if we are at home. I've tried letting him nap other places (in the swing or on me) but he tries to stay awake to see what I am doing. He pretty much can only stand to be awake for 2 hours b/n naps (except in the evening), so I watch the clock. If he's not already yawning, our routine is diaper, sleep sack, story, crib. Lately he will play for a bit before he falls asleep, but he is putting himself to sleep. Yay! Unfortunately, he only naps for about 35 minutes each time.

Usually the swing, because she'll pass out in a matter of seconds if you put the soft taggie blanket by her face w/ her binkie in her mouth. If she's too cranky or too much is going on to fall asleep in the swing, then she'll sleep in the crib. No real nap routine other than the schedule she's on.

lately she is back in my arms, sometimes in the carseat if we're out and about. Whatever it takes. She goes 2-3h awake before napping.

At home, in the crib. She doesn't fall asleep when she's held. No routine. Not really sure where the babysitter has her nap. I think she has a pack and play at her house for her to sleep in.

Our only routine is that she likes to nurse before naps, then I give her a kiss on the head and lay her down.

She usually naps on our bed or in her crib, as well as in the car.

this for us too; DH puts her in the swing but I never have any luck with her in there anymore.

She sleeps in my arms or in her swing. She doesn't have a routine. She sets her own unique schedule every day.

DS napped in his crib for the first 5 weeks then he stopped napping altogether. Starting at 3 months I could get him to nap, but only on me and it only worked at home and I'd have to nurse him on and off. I'm home for the first year, though, so it wasn't a big deal to me.

I tried to get him back in the crib for naps about a month ago but it wasn't working so I just gave up. Last week I felt like it was time to try again and I've been getting two 1.5 hour naps per day in the crib. It's amazing the things I can do in that time! I'm so glad it's worked out, but I definitely think it took some maturity on DS's end to get there.

Depends on the day. M,W,F the big boys are in school and I work at home so he naps in his crib. T,Th and the weekends his morning nap is usually in the carseat or stroller b/c we're on the go. Afternoon nap is always in his crib and usually at the same time as the big ones.
