Contractions with constipation?

WARNINGTMI POST. I am 39 wks 5 days today, and it seems like for the last 2 wks I have been constipated off and on, but have these really strong contractions when I am. Anyone else experience this?

    No contractions myself, but am a little behind you. Have been feeling more pressure in rectal and occasional small twinges low in pelvis area though. Have been told by a mommy friend that when it is time to push, to do it like i am pooping because she is convinced that if she had pushed that way, her tail bone would not have gotten messed up from the birth of her first one.... so based on this, I would guess you are getting good practice? Meanwhile, water fiber?

    Sometimes I cant tell if I am having a contraction or if its just gas pressure from being constipated. I know LO is pushing on all sorts of things in there, and seeing how I am a FTM I really dont know what they are supposed to feel like - I just assume any pain in that area is a BH or contraction.

    Because my cervix is so posterior when I have strong contractions it feels like I have to poop and I rush to the bathroom and nothing happens but it can be very uncomfortable.
