Bathtub ?

So I transitioned Dylan into a normal tub with a large non slip mat covering the whole bottom and a faucet cover. My problem is he insists on climbing up the sides of the tub the whole bath and I'm super paranoid he's going to slip and hit his head. I spend the whole bath with my hands around him halfway holding him up.

Anyone else have this problem? Any thoughts on how to deal with a climbing baby?

Try to find one of those bath ring seats that keeps them sitting. A mobile baby in a bath tub is just asking for an injury ( busted lip, head, tooth etc.). They are hard to find but they are out there. Check consignment stores/sales, goodwill etc.

Do you put toys in the bathtub with him? Anna plays with her toys for a few minutes, when she gets bored and starts climbing up the sides I take her out.

Yea Jackson stands...but he gets the point after me putting him on his butt after 5 times. If he keeps doing it, I take him out of the bath. Sometimes I do take a bath with him or he showers with DH

we just use a large beach towel and lay it across the tub top cause ds tries to stand up too!

I've never stopped either kid from standing in the bathtub. DS stood in it from 10 months - 2.5 years. LOL I'm right there so if they fall I could get to them quickly, but I'm not going to fret over them standing.

I think it's Jen0204, but one bumpie has a bumper for the tub. It just goes around the edge like one would on a crib. Might look for one of those?

I have also bathed with DD many times. Not due to injury risk, but because she has been terrified of baths.

Cordelia does this, but I just keep sitting her down and letting her know that isn't ok. I do let her have toys in the tub for her to play with...which helps some.

We have that problem too. She is in a baby bath inside the regular tub and she is always trying to climb out, reach the faucet, steal the soap, etc. I sometimes just let her stand for a minute and hold her, otherwise I just keep sitting her back down. If I don't feel like fighting I just wash her quickly and take her out.

DH was giving Reece a bath once and I climbed in with him, not naked because that would have been too weird.
