My cousin was telling me about them tearing down toon town where she used to work. Since you are the boards Disney expert I thought you could probably tell me what they are putting in.
Penny- I don't know about toon town but I heart they added two Dumbo rides. I have a friend that goes all the time and she said the updates were really nice! She doesn't have any kids so I was hoping for a little bit more insight.
Yes, I was sad that Mickey and Minnie's houses are gone... but the new Fantasyland is awesome!
The Storybook Circus area has the new Dumbo rides (with a great interactive play area inside for kids to enjoy while waiting for the ride), The Barnstormer (which was moved from Toontown), and Casey Jr Splash and Soak which is a little water splash park.
The Enchanted Forest section has Under the Sea Journey of the Little Mermaid, Enchanted Tales with Belle (which is an awesome interaction with Belle and other characters from the movie and the kids get to be part of re-inacting the story), Ariel's Grotto (meet and greet with Ariel) and the new restaurant Be Our Guest.
They will also be opening the Seven Drawfs Mine Train roller coaster at a later date.
Beast's and Prince Eric's castles are absolutely amazing!
We were there in September and are headed back at the end of February. I can't wait!
Let me know if you have anymore questions... or if you want some free help planning a trip!

So they are now going to have TWO mine related rides? Big Thunder and the Dwarf one? Or are they going to get rid of Big Thunder?
yes, but they are really different. One is the Drawfs which is more of a kiddy ride.
