I went in for a regular 2D sizing U/S today at 36 weeks. The tech decided to take a 3D shot of LO's face, probably just to be nice, but I admit, I'm freaked by it. LO's nose and lips look huge and his eyes sunken - in DH's words, he looks like a bridge troll. Almost deformed.
DH is laughing because he says there is no way the nose could be that big and developed because babies aren't born with fully developed noses like that. But I can't help but be a little concerned.
Anyone else experience something like this and have it turn out OK?
Re: Freaky 3D U/S
Yeah, I certainly didn't ask for it. He just did it.
Your little girl is adorable!

TTC 3rd and final!: IUI #1 in progress!
Don't worry about it. I had to have an u/s at 38+ weeks with DD because I had been violently ill and my measurements were down. They wanted to check my fluids.
All was well, but the tech zapped her with the 3D for the first time. I was horrified. She was probably all smushed down there... I threw the pic away. It was awful.
And I know I'm biased, but I'll say it anyway since everyone says she looks like her daddy. My daughter is absolutely gorgeous. :-)
I had a growth scan yesterday and the tech flipped the machine to 3D to see just how big my LO really was (he was measuring in the 97th percentile). I hate 3D. They always creep me out, but I couldn't look away. His nose was HUMONGOUS. Seriously. I wanted to cry. I'm already paranoid about a big nose because DS #2 was really chubby when he was born and he had a fat pad above his nose (between his eyes) that looked like a second nose when he scrunched up his face while crying. I hated his second nose, and even though I thought he was cute, I was so glad when he thinned out and that second nose went away!
Anyway, after the u/s was done yesterday, the tech gave me some pictures. They were both 3D and regular 2D. His nose looked HUGE in the 3D ones and it looks like he has a hook nose in the 2D ones. Cue more wanting to cry. I really hope it's all distortion.
Thanks, ladies. This all makes me feel a lot better.
