I like a variety because my favorite changes all of the time. I also love Workhorse fitteds with a Capri cover. Easy to care for, absorbant and very adjustable. And I love my Grovia AI2s. These are really trim and the inserts are easy to pack in the diaper bag. Our BG 4.0s are nice stuffed with infant prefolds. They are my nannies' favorites because they prefer the one piece.
Soon to be Big Sister Eowyn - DOB February 2012
My family is a Foreign Service family. Families like mine are posted in every corner of the globe. We live our lives away from family, friends and the conviences and comforts of home. We often live and work in dangerous places among those that misunderstand our intentions and purposes. Sometimes members of our ranks sacrifice our lives to further diplomacy. Please remember that we serve too. And I'm always open to questions.
We went GDiaper because I had been given a bunch for my baby shower. I mostly stuck with them because I liked that my work researching options was done, but I've come to really like them because they're cute, very slim (so he actually fits into pants that are the appropriate age), and I like being able to swap just the cloth liner if all he does is pee. Now that he's on solids we also use the Grovia Bioliners and love them so we can toss the poop right into the toilet and the diaper stays relatively clean... they make cloth diapering so much easier.
The one negative to GDiapers is that you have to buy a new set as your child grows (my kid is huge and only stayed in the small size for 3 months), but has now been in size medium for 7 months and will likely be here awhile (hopefully until potty training unless he really grows a lot).
I swore by prefolds with thirsties covers when DD was a newborn, but I switched to fuzzi bunz pockets because she got more wiggly and it was hard to get the prefold on her. I love our pocket diapers. They're super easy and cute.
We use the fuzzibunz one size pocket diapers and I've never used anything else, so I can't really say I have a favourite. We bought a stash of them cheap off a deal a day website when DD was 3 months old and have used them ever since.
I like them, the only thing that I don't like about them (and any diapers that have PUL) is that smells are hard to get rid of, it's like the PUL absorbs the smell and locks it in. It takes a lot for me to get them to have no odour at all.. I've really had to experiment with my front loader washer too... by the time my kid's out of diapers (if not before), I'll probably need a new washing machine... and this one is new....
We use bumgenius, mostly the 3.0s which are discontinued. They're AIOs with pockets, which is nice. We also like our BG 4.0s, and the fuzzibunz pockets we have.
I haven't tried many kinds due to cost, but my fave out of what I have are her Kawaii Originals. They just fit her the best. I'd really love to try other brands and styles though, especially fitteds or even prefolds.
For daycare or my mom or MIL I like Kawaiis (so easy, affordable and made well). For home I like flips (not much laundry, never leaks and economical) or WAHM fitteds (earthlingz from etsy are awesome) with a wool cover (littlewonderwoolies is also on etsy and super cute and affordable). For nightime I like sbish with a wool cover as well.
I use pockets and prefolds or inserts with covers.
For pockets, I use bumgenius 4.0 at night and have never had a leak. I love them but I prefer trimmer diapers for day time. So for days we use Fuzzibunz Elites and a few Fuzzibunz medium[theyre suppose to fit for a while]. I have a couple Kawaiis, they are bulky on my DD so I only use them for bedtime. They work well but they aren't my favorites. I have an OhKaty too. It's a little smaller than bumgenius pockets. The pocket is in the front and I can never seem to stuff it right! It works well though.
Covers I like prefolds. I have some Flip inserts too and they are pretty nice. Thirsties hemp prefolds can hold a lot of pee. I have flip, Thirsties duo, and GroVia covers. I like them all. I think the Thirsties duos are my favorite. GroVias fit a little tighter.
Like Starbuck said, sometimes I use my covers just so I can really coordinate with her outfit all day.

We use a variety and use different kinds for different things. For daycare we have BG 3.0s with hook and loop or grovias with hook and loop (also husband and grandma proof). We like pockets for home, and like the DiaperRites, Grovia hybrids with snaps or prefolds with covers-usually Econobum or Thirsties. At night I like Kawaii night times, and I'm just now trying out some hemp inserts to see if they are really more absorbent.
We also use the Grovia disposable inserts for traveling. And for the newborn stage we used prefolds with covers and Grovia all in ones.
we've tried about everything, it seems like. Not a fan of all in ones.
