Emily is a pro with her sippy cups but apparently at daycare she likes to turn it upside down and dump it out. I get that there are other kids they are responsible for at the same time so they can not monitor her sippy-use as closely as i can at home but I never used the valve things that came with our sippys bc I didn't want her sucking the water/milk out like it was a bottle. Daycare is requesting the valves. I don't want her to regress. So to make a long story short...I am considering starting the transition to straw cups. Maybe not the right reasons to switch but I would rather move forward than backwards. Any recommendations? (And I get that if she turns it upside down when it's a straw, stuff will still come out, but at least then they can't request valves).
Re: S/O straw cups
My experience is that they adapt pretty easy to what they have. If she uses the valves at DC and without at home, she will figure it out easy.
that being said, learning the straw didn't take long either. Started on the Playtex one, and he had it in one day.
We also have one of these...any thoughts on transitioning to this instead of the straw?

I always wanted to try that Phillips one. I bought one, but I put it on the top rack of the dishwasher for the first was (before he used it) and a piece of it fell to the bottom of the washer and melted.

We are also using the Nuby straw cup and love it. Took DS just a few minutes to figure it out and then we had to show him that he didn't have to tip it like a sippy cup, haha. Definitely doesn't spill when turned over and we bought ours at Target! (https://nuby.com/en/nuby/cups-spouts/9911/)
YES! That's the one! We have 4, I love them and so does O!!
