I see a lot of women on this board that are around the same amount of weeks as I am and they are starting NST's and BPP's. I haven't heard anything from my OB or MFM about these tests. I am now seeing the OB weekly because I'm on bedrest for high BP. I plan on asking tomorrow when I go but I would also like your experience.
Did you have NST's and BPP's? If so how many weeks were you when they started?
Re: NST and BPP did you have them?
Mine had been doing a BPP (Biophysical Profile) since ~ 25 weeks but never called them that really... they are looking at tone, breathing, heart rate, and fluid level via an u/s. Each baby can earn a score of 0 or 2 in each category for a total possible score of 8. They may have already been doing this during what you thought was a normal u/s and didn't call it a BPP specifically.
At my appt today I had my first NST (Non-Stress Test) where they monitored how the baby responds or how reactive they are. Again they can either earn a 0 or 2 for this test.
In combo of the BPP and NST each baby can earn a score up to 10 total and my MFM likes for each baby to get at least an 8 out of 10. If they are below an 8 and/or are not reactive during the NST they said they might just hook me back up to see if the baby was just sleeping... then go from there. HTH!
