Lurker here! So, this is a really random question, but for any moms out there with boy twins or girl twins, how did you decide which baby got which name? Was it a random choice, or did each name seem to fit one of the babies better?
We were team green, so we had 2 boy names, 2 girl names, and then chose which ones we liked the best if they were b/g. When baby a came out and was a boy, we went with our 1st choice boy name that we had picked if they were b/g. My boys are Bennett and Brady
I am having two girls and I have assigned them names in utero, but its really hard to assign personalities when I can't see them or interact with them.
However, due to my OCD-type tendencies, I am naming my girls in the order they are born. Yes, I will be giving birth alphabetically. Baby A will be Audrey and Baby B will be Lydia. I am calling them by name in utero, but truthfully if they come out in a different order during the c-section, I probably won't even know since the hospital always refers to the first born as Baby A.
Single Mother by Choice.
Life didn't work out the way I planned so I did it on my own.

My IVF Journey
Damien was green, Jace was orange. The first m&m out of the bag while I was in labor was green, so we decided baby A would be Damien. I'm sure most people don't name their babies like this though.
I haven't had my boys yet but we have named them according to personality in utero. It also happens to be alphabetically but that was a pure coincidence.
Jacob is our little wiggle worm who is very out going, while Samuel is
our much more content one as in he doesn't change positions nearly as
much.
My doctor has assured me based on position when he delivers he will call the position of the baby (left or right, A or B in utero) so we can assign the correct names names. I only say this as with a c-section he said they can be delivered backwards with B first but the hospital will call them A as they came out first. A bit confusing huh? Then again there will be so much emotion during delivery that if we get them backwards I don't think it will really matter as they cannot tell whom we are talking to in utero but hear both names.

It was just a feeling. We had one name chosen weeks before the other. Baby B was named first. A name for Baby A popped into my head and I couldn't get it out. So, I figured that was his name. Since I'm having a c-section, I need to be sure Baby B doesn't become Baby A, I don't want their names switched.

I went backwards A &B are my girls but they have A=E B=A for there names. I had to wait till I saw them then gave them names we had the names all ready picked out. There names fit them perfect I am happy did it that way.

Originally H said that he wanted whoever came out first to be Natalia but then we started referring to them by name in utero so he said no matter who came out first he wanted Baby A to be Natalia. Luckily she came out first anyway so it all worked out. Natalia is a family name from his side and was important to him, which is why he wanted Baby A to have it.

We decided before they were born which baby would have which name. Even if they would have switched birth order, the names wouldn't have changed. There was a significant size difference, so no chance of mixing up which baby was which.
As far as how we decided who got which name, I just knew. I can't even explain it.
We've already picked names for the boys. I picked Baby B's name....I had a boy's name that I had always wanted and for some reason had felt like it was Baby B's name from the start....even before we found out he was a boy! DH picked Baby A's name....in both cases we each liked the names the other one picked so it worked out really nicely that way. I agree that it's just kind of a "feeling" thing. Also Baby A has been bigger than B the whole time so even if I have a c/s I think we'll know who's who when they're born.
We've already named them based on their positions in utero. It made me feel more connected to them to have names, rather than #1, #2, and #3. The first boy we named was #3, but only because he was the first that I felt kick and it was also the only name we have 100% agreed upon. Once we agreed upon two more names, we just randomly gave each a name.

Based on who was out first. We did alphabetical order. The first one out was M, the second one out was N. However, those names fit their personalities, so we lucked out
We named A Jonathan and B Matthew. Matthew means gift of God and we thought that a second baby was a gift of God so he got that name. Turns out that Jonathan means God has given. Turns out it didn't matter who got what name. Looking at the boys now it has worked out beautifully. Jon was named after my grandfather John. My Jon has his eyes. They are a grey/green mixture just like my grandfather.
We chose our first boys name when we thought there was only one. The second one we had a hard time coming up with but the second baby got the second name.
We named inutero a few weeks after we confirmed they were both boys. We first named baby A Simon, because he was far more active and I felt him moving regularly - stabbing me with his feet and such - Simon means "to be heard", so we found it fitting. It took us a little while to really decide on the second name, but we chose James, because it is a family-wide name for us, and every James in our lives has been a great person... true to his name "to supplant", he has become the mover and shaker of movement and made it seem like he's attempting to forcefully show that *he* gets to be the boisterous one. We're pretty sure that we won't be swapping their names after birth.

We had our "girl" name picked out before we ever found out we were pregnant. It was going to be after each of our grandmothers. Then we found out it was twins. Baby A "showed us the goods" several weeks before we knew what Baby B was, so she temporarily had our "girl" name. Then, when Baby B turned out to be a girl also, we split the names, with one girl getting Etta and the other getting Elaine. I didn't want them to have the same initials, so Elaine became a middle, and then we just needed a middle for Etta and a first name for Baby B. Then we decided on Claire Elaine and Etta Jane. It strangely worked out perfectly that the baby named after my grandmother takes after me, and the baby named after my hubby's grandmother took after him, but it just happened that way. Now I can't imagine them with reversed names.
Etta Jane and Claire Elaine are here! Born March 28, 2012.
We had the names chosen and decided when they were born. One of our girls is more petite, which (in our minds, obviously) better suited the name Emily. Our other girl is Samantha. With the names we had chosen, we found it tough to assign by personality in utero.
Alphabetically. They're identical, so it's not like one looked more like a particular name than the other....although I never really get that concept.

We have 4 names that we have floating around (2 similar Persian ones and 2 Irish ones). I'd like to take a look at the babies before I pick their names.
We are waiting until they are born and going on what they look more like. I know that does not make much sense, but just waiting to see what they look like and then naming them.
We went with what name seemed to fit them both in utero better for their personalities. Definitely hit the nail on the head with them, baby A is Hayden baby B is Liam.
I picked one name and my husband picked the other. I'd started thinking of the bigger one my whole pregnancy as the name he picked- Dylan... and the little guy as Ryan.

this happend for us too! I knew I wanted the name Colin Gregory for a boy if one was a boy, Gregory is my uncle who passed away right before I got pregnant. I had initially suggested Harrison James for the other when we saw it was 2 boys, but I took it back. We spent the rest of the pregnancy debating names. But I was sure Colin was the little one in utero, I wanted a scrappy Irish name for my little one (my family is Irish from the county I'm named for) They were born early so they were officially nameless for a few days-then we chose Harrison Thomas (thomas is DH's middle name and his dad's first name).
Harry looks like DH, same skin tone, hair color, etc. Colin looks like me, it's neat how it ended up matching their names!
