I am kinda stuck with snacks to put in DD's lunch box everyday. I tend to have the same things on rotation and am looking for new ideas. Some of the things she eats now are cereal (cheerios, kix, wheeties) with freeze dried fruit, whole grain goldfish, mini rice cakes, kashi fruit filled bars, fruit, trader joe's mini whole wheat crackers and cheese. I'd like to pack healthy snacks, but I am running out of ideas.
Re: Lunchbox snacks
I just typed up a response to this and the Bump ate it.
Yogurt as a snack, maybe with graham crackers to dip
Olives
Roll up with Hummus
Roll up with PB and banana (if you do PB)
Fruit and veggie smoothie (I use banana, frozen blueberries and spinach)
Applesauce (I buy the organic unsweetened kind and put cinnamon in it)
That is a great idea, I hadn't even thought about giving veggies first. DD used to like veggies but lately just picks them out of everything.
LBB is OBSESSED with bell peppers lately too! He'll eat them whole though. I've been keeping frozen slices in the freezer for him, and he eats them by the handful.
MamaZ- we do most of the same things you do, the only ones we do that you don't are: veggies like green beans, peas, shredded carrots, radishes, and we'll also pack hummus with them since he adores hummus. He's going through an apple and banana phase right now, so he gets that a lot. And for an extra special treat, he goes nuts over yogurt covered pretzels (his teacher thought maybe we laced them with crack).
