Cereal in bottle

Are you adding cereral to your breastmilk?  I am thinking of doing one bottle at night to see if this will help him sleep better.  Have you tried this?

  • No, I've heard newborns have a hard time digesting cereal. Just breast milk here. We'll introduce cereal at 4 6 months.

  • I've never tried it, but I've also heard that it doesn't work.

  • I personally only tried that with my first son 13 years ago and all the cereal did was clog the nipple of the bottle and clump and my son would gag and puke. Even what megan said-its harder for them to digest at such a young age. But every mother knows their baby better than anyone else as well.

My baby girl is my fourth child and I will probably start her on cereal around the 3 month mark..done it for all my babies and depending if she's ready for it :)

  • My dd had reflux and I used to add cereal to pumped milk for that issue. She didn't sleep better. Also tried formula at night. Didn't sleep better with that either. And. Ow at 18 months old she is still not a great sleeper.
Ds doesn't have reflux and I bf him. He sleeps better than dd ever did lol. I think it's a myth.
  • No.

Cereal this early increases risk of allergy.

Cereal in a bottle is a choking risk.

This should only be dine when advised by the doctor because the benefit outweighs the risk.
