Sad Day...

My friend and coworker's 9 week old baby boy passed away. He has been having breathing problems since the second he was born. He spent 3 weeks in the NICU, but was able to go home and be on oxygen there. He had a sleep study last Tuesday and his oxygen levels dropped down in the 60s. They then took him to the hospital & he was put on a ventilator. My friend and his wife decided to take him off the ventilator and take him home for the weekend. He is now a sweet baby in heaven and I can't even come close to imagining what they are going through. I just want to run home and hug & kiss DS all over his sweet little face. Really makes me realize how blessed I/we all are. Hold your babies tight tonight!!

    How awful. Did they take him home with the expectation he would die? Not that it makes it better or worse but what a heartbreaking decision to make.

    Your friends are in my thoughts.

    Yes, they wanted to take him home and let him fall asleep at home free of wires and machines. They said they don't want/need anything, but what can we do for them? We are such a close family at work.
