I have a gagger

Every time Preston eats a meal or snack, at some point, he starts gagging himself!  I can't get him to stop, either.  It started at Thanksgiving dinner.

Anyone else have a gagger or suggestions for how to make him stop?

Re: I have a gagger

  • No advice on how to make it stop, but Gator wasn't a gagger until about a month ago. And we did BLW so it's not like it was the first time she was getting food. She would also stick her fingers down her throat and gag. We just ignored it, figuring she would eventually stop doing it. It lasted about a month and then she stopped gagging on food and stopped putting her fingers down her throat.

  • Yep, L does it all the time. Especially if it's something he doesn't like he'll shove his fingers in his mouth and pull out whatever it is and/or throw up. The pedi said just to ignore it and eventually he'll grow out of it. He's been doing it ever since we started solids. I still have to give him purees so I know he'll keep it down.

This is EXACTLY what he does!  Looks like I have to wait it out - thanks!

DD did this exact same thing for the longest time and then just stopped one day.

DD just started sticking her fingers down her throat to make herself gag Tongue Tied Not the same things as when you eat, but my MIL said all 4 of her boys did things like that with food/fingers, so I assumed it was normal! I'd be interested in hearing others' thoughts

Same here, I have hide my giggles sometimes because I don't want to encourage it.
